One of the most important components to planning a new or expanding museum is to define the visitor experience. MMC staff, in partnership with associate consultants specializing in exhibition and visitor experience design, will work with you to conceptualize the themes, sub themes, interpretive exhibits, experience highlights, and significant messages to be used in your exhibits. We will also develop education programs for your specific target audiences that align with your exhibits. We recommend conducting audience research as the visitor experience is being developed to ensure that the concepts and programs are attractive, compelling, and meet your visitor needs.

The Visitor Experience Plan, the document that results from this process, includes a narrative visitor walkthrough, conceptual renderings, prototype education programs, and an estimate of the capital costs to implement physical improvements. Our clients frequently use these documents as important tools for communicating to stakeholders and potential donors the future vision of their museum.
